Pocket Valentines Card
I made this for my husband.
Tools and Supplies:
- Patterned Paper - My Mind's Eye and Magnolia
- Stamp Set - C.C. Designs, Key and Lock
- Maya Road Chipboard Key
- Bazzill Basics Tutu Pink Cardstock
- Lace
- Light Green Seam Binding Ribbon
- String Pearls in Pink
- Liquid Pearls in White Opal
- White Paint
- Button
- Twine
- Paper Piercer
- Hot Glue Gun
- Paper Trimmer
Procedure:This is a very easy to make Pocket Card that is great not only for holding a card but can also hold a gift certificate for a massage, money, gift card, etc. Here is how it is made.
For the Main Card
- First cut a corner of a piece of 12x12 patterned paper, so you have a triangle. The size depends on how large you want your pocket to be.
- Then line up your triangle to a corner of a piece of cardstock. (See photo) The top corners and left side should match up.
- Mark on cardstock where you would cut to make another triangle slightly larger than the first. Cut in paper trimmer. (See photo) You now have 2 triangles, the cardstock one will be slightly larger on the right side.
- Using a hot glue gun, adhere the 2 pieces together only applying glue along the left side and on the bottom.
- You now have a pocket to hold your card. Decorate as desired.
For the Heart:
- Cut out a heart from some patterned paper, making sure the size will fit inside of the pocket. Decorate as desired.
- Hot glue some lace around the edge of the heart as well as some string pearls.
- Punch a hole in the top right corner of the heart and string some ribbon through it to act as a pull.
- Adhere a button over the hole.
For the Aged Key:
- I simply brushed some paint sparingly over a chipboard key.
- When dry, I added some Liquid Pearls onto the top part of the key.
About me:I am an avid cardmaker who loves to make cards for both family and friends as well as submit to cardmaking magazines. It is so relaxing to me to create things. A great stress reliever!
